It's been 1.5 months since we got our Japanese Spitz puppy and she has been an absolute joy. Much thanks to Yvonne for answering all our questions and being so helpful in sharing information on caring for our little pup. She had a clean bill of health and came home healthy, energetic and quite well adjusted. After purchasing this little one, we still keep in touch with Yvonne and are grateful for the after sales support indeed. :)Posted on Google![]()

Amazing experience with Pretty Pets Kennel!! Special shoutout to Branden who took the effort and patience to explain to us about the cavapoo. Really love at first sight. Initially wanted to have a second thought but with the professional explanation. It left us with only 1 choice. Guess what? We got a new family member now…☺️🎊🎉Posted on Google![]()

I got my family’s dream dog, a Papillion-Japanese spitz mix at Pretty Pet’s Kennel! I’m very grateful to Yvonne who introduced me to the designer mix dog. According to Google, it has better tolerance with Singapore’s humid heat vs Pomsky (or pure Japanese spitz). Pretty Pets Kennel designer mixes can be rare and have high visibility, so it’s important to secure them quickly if you really desire them. I’m lucky Yvonne kept me up to date on the sale this litter. ❤️ After I brought him back, Yvonne checked in daily for about 3 days to make sure the puppy was settling well and I was doing all the right things. I’m lucky that he is about 50% toilet trained from the moment I brought him in. Perhaps it’s also part of Pretty Pets structure that he is partly toilet trained. They also ethically check on some viruses before they release the pup.Posted on Google![]()

We’ve had such a lovely experience with them, from the very first time we met Yvonne to even after Pebbles came home. We actually chanced upon this place quite randomly and very much on a whim. Our boy had very recently left us, and at the time we were simply looking around — not even specifically for another puppy. Yvonne was extremely warm and took the time to get to know us. When she found out that we had previously had a Japanese Spitz, she asked if we would like to have a look at the puppies. I don’t think we need to say much more after that. ❤️ Our puppy girl came home with us the following week. What really impressed us was seeing how well the furkids/babies were cared for. We know that, unfortunately, the conditions in these situations are not always ideal, so it was reassuring to see the care and attention given to the puppies. We were even able to interact with our puppy’s birth parents, which was something really special for us. The aftercare has been just as lovely. Yvonne continues to check in with us and follows up to make sure everything is alright, and she has always been there when we have questions or concerns. We really appreciate that the care didn’t simply stop once our puppy went home. There is probably never a “right” time to welcome another furkid after losing one. We certainly weren’t looking to replace our boy, and we know our hearts weren’t really prepared for another puppy so soon. But we are incredibly grateful for that one simple question that led us to meet our little puppy girl. Thank you, Yvonne, for bringing our little puppy girl into our lives. ❤️🐾Posted on Google![]()

Jared has been extremely helpful and caring from the very beginning when we welcomed our Pomeranian, Kai, into our family. Although I have had dogs before, having a puppy is a new experience for our children, and there were many things for us to learn and adjust to together. Jared really went above and beyond. He even created a group chat to keep in touch with us, follow up on Kai’s daily progress, and make sure we were doing well and taking good care of him. Whenever we had questions or were unsure about something, he was always patient, responsive and ready to guide us. What we appreciate most is that his care didn’t stop after we brought Kai home. You can really feel that he genuinely cares about the puppies and wants them to settle happily into their new families. Thank you, Jared, for all your help, patience and care. You made welcoming Kai into our family such a smooth and reassuring experience. 🩵🐶 Highly recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. The Pug Tzu, a delightful hybrid breed, is believed to have originated in the late 20th century as a result of the intentional crossbreeding of the Pug and the Shih Tzu. This breed was developed to combine the desirable traits of both parent breeds, such as the Pug’s charming personality and the Shih Tzu’s luxurious coat.
Breeders aimed to create a dog that not only embodied the affectionate nature of both breeds but also offered a unique look that would appeal to dog lovers seeking a companion.
As interest in designer dog breeds surged, the Pug Tzu gained popularity for its endearing appearance and gentle temperament. Though it lacks formal recognition from major breed clubs, the Pug Tzu has developed a loyal following among hybrid enthusiasts. The breed’s history reflects a growing trend in the canine world, where the aim is to produce dogs that embody the best characteristics of two beloved parent breeds.
Today, Pug Tzus are cherished as loving family companions, known for their playful and friendly demeanor, making them a wonderful choice for many households.

The Pug Tzu is celebrated for its friendly and affectionate personality, making it an ideal companion for families and individuals alike. These dogs are inherently social, thriving on human interaction and often forming strong bonds with their owners. With a playful demeanor, Pug Tzus exude joy and energy, making them delightful additions to any household.
They are known for their eagerness to please, which translates into a willingness to learn and respond well to positive reinforcement training methods.
In addition to their playful side, Pug Tzus exhibit a gentle and calm temperament, making them excellent for families with children and other pets. They are adaptable and can comfortably adjust to various living environments, whether it’s a busy urban apartment or a suburban home.
Despite their small size, Pug Tzus often display a confident demeanor and curiosity about their surroundings. Their lovable and friendly nature makes them great companions for outdoor activities, playtime, and cuddling on the couch, ensuring that life with a Pug Tzu is always filled with love and laughter.
Pug Tzus are small to medium-sized dogs, typically weighing between 10 to 20 pounds and standing around 10 to 14 inches tall at the shoulder. Their compact stature gives them a sturdy and adorable appearance, making them a perfect fit for various living environments, including apartments and houses.
In terms of physical features, Pug Tzus often inherit the round, expressive eyes and wrinkled face of the Pug, combined with the soft, flowing coat of the Shih Tzu. Their coat can vary in texture, ranging from wavy to curly, and comes in a variety of colors such as fawn, black, brindle, and even combinations of these. Pug Tzus also possess a strong, well-proportioned body with short legs that give them a charming and playful demeanor.
One of the significant advantages of the Pug Tzu’s coat is its low-shedding quality, which can be beneficial for allergy sufferers and requires less cleaning. Their tails are typically curled, adding to their cute appearance. Overall, the Pug Tzu’s combination of delightful features and compact size makes them an attractive breed for those seeking a loving and visually appealing companion.

Grooming and basic care are essential for maintaining the health and happiness of your Pug Tzu. Due to their mixed heritage, Pug Tzus may inherit varying coat textures, so regular grooming is crucial to prevent matting and maintain a clean appearance. Ideally, they should be brushed at least once a week, and more frequently during shedding seasons, to keep their coat in optimal condition.
Professional grooming every 6 to 8 weeks is recommended to ensure their coat stays tidy and healthy.
In addition to grooming, basic care includes regular veterinary check-ups to monitor for potential health issues such as breathing difficulties or eye problems, which are common in both Pugs and Shih Tzus. Pug Tzus should be fed a balanced diet tailored to their age, size, and activity level, with portion control to prevent obesity, a concern for this breed.
Daily exercise is essential, involving walks and playtime to keep them physically and mentally stimulated.
Dental care is also vital; regular teeth brushing and dental treats can help prevent dental diseases. Make sure to provide access to fresh water at all times. By following these grooming and care guidelines, you can ensure that your Pug Tzu remains healthy, happy, and a loving companion for years to come.
Pug Tzu puppies, like many mixed breeds, can be susceptible to certain health issues that may arise from their parent breeds, the Pug and the Shih Tzu. One significant concern is Brachycephalic Airway Syndrome, which may cause breathing difficulties due to their short snouts, especially in hot or humid conditions, potentially leading to challenges during exercise or play.
Additionally, Pug Tzus can be prone to hip dysplasia, a genetic condition affecting the hip joint that can lead to arthritis and pain later in life. Eye problems, such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy, are also common, so regular eye examinations are essential. Their skin folds can be prone to irritations and infections if not properly cleaned, making regular grooming crucial.
Furthermore, weight management is vital for Pug Tzus, as they can gain weight easily due to their smaller size and lower activity levels, necessitating careful monitoring of their diet and exercise routines. Allergies may also be an issue, leading to skin irritations, itching, or gastrointestinal problems, so identifying and managing potential allergens is important.
Lastly, dental problems, including gum disease and tooth decay, are common in small breeds like the Pug Tzu, underscoring the need for regular dental care, including brushing and professional cleanings. By being aware of these common health issues and maintaining regular veterinary care, you can help ensure a long, happy, and healthy life for your Pug Tzu puppy.
Training a Pug Tzu in Singapore can be a rewarding experience, as these dogs are known for their eager-to-please attitude and affectionate nature. Start with basic obedience training, utilizing positive reinforcement techniques such as treats and praise to encourage desired behaviours.
Consistency is key, so establish a regular training schedule and keep sessions short and engaging to maintain your Pug Tzu’s interest. Socialization is also vital; expose your puppy to various environments, people, and other dogs to help them become well-rounded and confident.
Given Singapore’s urban environment, consider incorporating leash training early on to ensure your Pug Tzu is comfortable walking on a leash and remains well-behaved during outings. Obedience classes or puppy training schools can offer structured guidance and socialisation opportunities, creating a positive learning experience for your dog.
Additionally, make time for play and mental stimulation through interactive toys and games, which can aid in keeping your Pug Tzu mentally sharp and happy. By investing time and effort into training, you’ll forge a strong bond with your Pug Tzu while fostering good behaviour and a well-adjusted companion.
Proper nutrition is essential for maintaining the health and vitality of your Pug Tzu. To ensure your furry friend thrives, focus on providing a balanced diet tailored to their specific needs. Begin by selecting high-quality dog food formulated for small breeds, as these options typically contain the right mix of nutrients to support their growth and energy levels. Look for foods that list meat as the first ingredient, and avoid those with excessive fillers or artificial additives.
It’s important to measure portions carefully, as Pug Tzus can be prone to obesity; consult your veterinarian for guidance on the appropriate portion sizes based on your dog’s age, weight, and activity level.
In addition to commercial dog food, consider incorporating healthy treats and fresh vegetables into your Pug Tzu’s diet. Carrots, green beans, and sweet potatoes can serve as nutritious snacks that provide essential vitamins and minerals. Always ensure that any human food is safe for dogs and avoid items that are toxic, such as onions, garlic, and chocolate.
Regular access to fresh water is crucial to keep your Pug Tzu hydrated. Lastly, monitor your dog’s weight and overall health, making adjustments to their diet as needed, and consult your veterinarian if you have any concerns about your Pug Tzu’s nutrition or dietary habits. By following these nutrition tips, you can help your Pug Tzu lead a happy, healthy, and active life.

If you’re ready to bring a Pug Tzu into your life, you’re in for a delightful journey with a loving and charming companion! These endearing hybrids offer a perfect blend of affection, playfulness, and adaptability, making them an excellent choice for families and individuals alike. As you consider adding a Pug Tzu to your home, take the time to research reputable breeders or local rescues to ensure you find a healthy and well-cared-for puppy.
Prepare your living space with the necessary supplies, such as a cozy bed, nutritious food, and engaging toys, to create a welcoming environment for your new furry friend. With commitment, love, and proper care, your Pug Tzu will undoubtedly become a cherished member of your family, filling your days with joy and companionship. Don’t hesitate to reach out to local breeders or kennels, and embark on this rewarding adventure of pet ownership!
Owning a Pug Tzu in Singapore can be a truly rewarding experience, as these lovable companions thrive in various living environments and bring joy to their families. With their affectionate temperament and playful nature, Pug Tzus make excellent pets for both singles and families, seamlessly adapting to the urban lifestyle. It’s crucial to be aware of their grooming, training, and health care needs, as well as to provide a balanced diet to keep them healthy and happy.
By investing time in their care and building a strong bond through training and socialization, you can ensure a harmonious relationship with your Pug Tzu.
