It's been 1.5 months since we got our Japanese Spitz puppy and she has been an absolute joy. Much thanks to Yvonne for answering all our questions and being so helpful in sharing information on caring for our little pup. She had a clean bill of health and came home healthy, energetic and quite well adjusted. After purchasing this little one, we still keep in touch with Yvonne and are grateful for the after sales support indeed. :)Posted on Google![]()

Amazing experience with Pretty Pets Kennel!! Special shoutout to Branden who took the effort and patience to explain to us about the cavapoo. Really love at first sight. Initially wanted to have a second thought but with the professional explanation. It left us with only 1 choice. Guess what? We got a new family member now…☺️🎊🎉Posted on Google![]()

I got my family’s dream dog, a Papillion-Japanese spitz mix at Pretty Pet’s Kennel! I’m very grateful to Yvonne who introduced me to the designer mix dog. According to Google, it has better tolerance with Singapore’s humid heat vs Pomsky (or pure Japanese spitz). Pretty Pets Kennel designer mixes can be rare and have high visibility, so it’s important to secure them quickly if you really desire them. I’m lucky Yvonne kept me up to date on the sale this litter. ❤️ After I brought him back, Yvonne checked in daily for about 3 days to make sure the puppy was settling well and I was doing all the right things. I’m lucky that he is about 50% toilet trained from the moment I brought him in. Perhaps it’s also part of Pretty Pets structure that he is partly toilet trained. They also ethically check on some viruses before they release the pup.Posted on Google![]()

We’ve had such a lovely experience with them, from the very first time we met Yvonne to even after Pebbles came home. We actually chanced upon this place quite randomly and very much on a whim. Our boy had very recently left us, and at the time we were simply looking around — not even specifically for another puppy. Yvonne was extremely warm and took the time to get to know us. When she found out that we had previously had a Japanese Spitz, she asked if we would like to have a look at the puppies. I don’t think we need to say much more after that. ❤️ Our puppy girl came home with us the following week. What really impressed us was seeing how well the furkids/babies were cared for. We know that, unfortunately, the conditions in these situations are not always ideal, so it was reassuring to see the care and attention given to the puppies. We were even able to interact with our puppy’s birth parents, which was something really special for us. The aftercare has been just as lovely. Yvonne continues to check in with us and follows up to make sure everything is alright, and she has always been there when we have questions or concerns. We really appreciate that the care didn’t simply stop once our puppy went home. There is probably never a “right” time to welcome another furkid after losing one. We certainly weren’t looking to replace our boy, and we know our hearts weren’t really prepared for another puppy so soon. But we are incredibly grateful for that one simple question that led us to meet our little puppy girl. Thank you, Yvonne, for bringing our little puppy girl into our lives. ❤️🐾Posted on Google![]()

Jared has been extremely helpful and caring from the very beginning when we welcomed our Pomeranian, Kai, into our family. Although I have had dogs before, having a puppy is a new experience for our children, and there were many things for us to learn and adjust to together. Jared really went above and beyond. He even created a group chat to keep in touch with us, follow up on Kai’s daily progress, and make sure we were doing well and taking good care of him. Whenever we had questions or were unsure about something, he was always patient, responsive and ready to guide us. What we appreciate most is that his care didn’t stop after we brought Kai home. You can really feel that he genuinely cares about the puppies and wants them to settle happily into their new families. Thank you, Jared, for all your help, patience and care. You made welcoming Kai into our family such a smooth and reassuring experience. 🩵🐶 Highly recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. The Golden Doodle, a beloved hybrid breed, traces its origins back to the late 1990s in North America.
From birth, the early development of each puppy is shaped by ethical breeding practices, which prioritise health checks and proper care right from the start. Breeders aimed to create a dog that combined the friendly and social nature of the Golden Retriever with the hypoallergenic coat of the Poodle.
This crossbreed was initially developed to provide a suitable companion for families with allergies while maintaining the endearing qualities that make both parent breeds popular.
Because they’re a mixed-breed, every litter of Golden Doodles can display a range of physical traits and personalities, influenced by the unique combination of their parents’ genetics. The role of the parents is crucial, as their health, temperament, and lineage directly impact the quality and wellbeing of the puppies.
As demand grew for an intelligent and playful dog, the Golden Doodle quickly gained recognition for its exceptional temperament and versatility, making it an ideal family pet. Its adaptability in various living conditions also contributed to its rise in popularity. (thus making it extremely suitable for apartment living in Singapore!)
Today, Golden Doodles continue to be cherished worldwide for their friendly demeanor and suitability as loving family pets.

Golden Doodles are renowned for their friendly and affectionate personalities, making them one of the most sought-after breeds for families and individuals alike. As a sweet-natured furry friend, a Goldendoodle brings warmth and joy to any home, thriving on human interaction and companionship.
This eagerness to please, combined with their high intelligence, makes them easy to train and an excellent choice for families looking for a loyal pet. Golden Doodles are known to get along well with children and other pets, making them ideal companions in households with kids, or other dogs / cats.
Moreover, Golden Doodles often exhibit a playful and energetic temperament that encourages active lifestyles. They enjoy engaging in various activities, from fetch to agility training, and require regular exercise to keep them happy and healthy.
(While they are generally adaptable, it’s important to note again that personalities, appearances, and growth patterns can vary even among puppies from the same litter.)
Also, their strong social needs mean they may experience separation anxiety if left alone for extended periods.
Golden Doodles come in a variety of sizes, primarily determined by the size of their Poodle parent, which can be Standard, Miniature, or Toy. Choose a size that fits your lifestyle and living space!
Standard Golden Doodles typically weigh between 23 to 41 kilograms and stand around 51 to 61 centimeters tall, while Miniature Golden Doodles generally weigh between 7 to 16 kilograms and are around 33 to 51 centimeters tall. Toy Goldendoodles, though less common, weigh about 4.5 to 9 kilograms and stand under 33 centimeters tall.
(It’s important to note that the Golden Doodle is NOT HDB-Approved! Primarily because of its Golden Retriever parent. If you’re looking for a HDB Approved Puppy, click here for the full list!)
This flexibility in size makes the Golden Doodle an appealing option for various types of households.
In terms of physical features, Golden Doodles are characterised by their curly or wavy coats that help reduce shedding, making them more suitable for allergy sufferers.
Their coats can vary in colour, typically ranging from light golden to deep red, and can also include shades of cream, apricot, and black, depending on the genes inherited from their parent breeds.
Overall, their adaptable size and pleasing physical features contribute significantly to their popularity as family pets.

Grooming and basic care are essential aspects of owning a Golden Doodle, given their unique coat type and active lifestyle.
Due to their curly or wavy fur, regular grooming is crucial to prevent matting and keep their coat healthy. Daily brushing is essential for Goldendoodles, especially those with curlier coats, to prevent painful matting and tangles.
Owners should also pay close attention to bathing routines—bathing your Goldendoodle once a week or every two weeks is recommended, but overbathing can strip natural oils and cause dry, itchy skin, particularly in Singapore’s humid climate. After each bath, it’s important to ensure the coat is completely dried, including crevices, to prevent fungal or yeast infections.
Additionally, professional grooming is necessary every 4 to 8 weeks to maintain the coat’s length and condition, manage shedding and tangling, and keep your dog looking its best. Regular trims every 6-8 weeks are especially important in humid climates like ours to keep the coat manageable. Nail clipping and regular trimming of nails are also vital parts of the grooming routine to prevent discomfort and injury.
Investing in proper grooming tools such as clippers, scissors, and a detangling brush is essential, whether you groom at home or use professional services. Typical grooming sessions in Singapore cost between SGD 50 to SGD 100, depending on the service and your dog’s coat type.
Goldendoodles are prone to skin and ear issues due to Singapore’s intense humidity, which can trap moisture in their thick coats—maintaining a clean and dry coat is essential for their wellbeing. Their thick coats can also put them at risk for overheating, so schedule exercise early in the morning or late in the evening to keep them comfortable. (how to check if its too hot to walk your dog)
Basic care for Golden Doodles also includes regular veterinary check-ups, vaccinations, and health screenings to monitor for common health issues like hip dysplasia and ear infections. Furthermore, dental care, such as regular teeth brushing and dental chews, helps maintain their oral health.
One of the most common concerns is hip dysplasia, a genetic condition that affects the hip joints and can lead to arthritis and pain as the dog ages. Maintaining a healthy weight can help manage this condition.
Another health issue that Golden Doodles may face is ear infections, especially due to their floppy ears that can trap moisture and debris. Proper ear cleaning and hygiene are essential to prevent infections.
Additionally, Golden Doodles can be prone to allergies, which may manifest as skin irritations or gastrointestinal issues. Identifying and avoiding allergens, whether environmental or dietary, is crucial for their well-being.
Prospective owners should always inquire about the health history of the parent breeds and choose reputable breeders who conduct health screenings. (It’s best if you’re able to do Parentage Viewing – where you’re able to take a look at the parents of your puppy, helping you understand more about your potential puppy!)
When considering a Golden Doodle in Singapore, it’s important to choose ethical breeders who follow ethical breeding practices to ensure the health and wellbeing of the animals. (See the full list of AVS-Licensed Breeders here)
Ethical breeders conduct thorough health screenings and genetic tests on their breeding dogs to ensure they are free from inherited diseases, helping to prevent health issues in the puppies they produce. Purchasing from ethical breeders also ensures that puppies are not sourced from puppy mills, which often prioritise profit over the health and welfare of the animals.
Training a Golden Doodle in Singapore involves using positive reinforcement techniques to harness their intelligence and eagerness to please. Living in a bustling city like Singapore means you may encounter various distractions; to combat this, gradually introduce your dog to different environments, sounds, and surfaces to help them adapt.
Start with basic obedience commands such as sit, stay, and come, using treats or praise as rewards to encourage good behaviour.
Enrolling your Golden Doodle in a puppy training class can provide valuable socialisation opportunities with other dogs and people, which is crucial for developing a well-rounded companion. These classes often focus on obedience, manners, and addressing any behavioural issues early on.
Goldendoodles are high-energy dogs that typically need 60 to 90 minutes of daily activity combined with mental stimulation. So bringing them for walks on top of some basic training daily is perfectly fine for them!
Consistency and patience are key when training a Golden Doodle. Incorporate playtime and daily walks into their routine, as physical activity helps reduce excess energy and improve focus during training sessions.
Goldendoodles also enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, which not only provides exercise but allows them to explore and engage with their environment. Keep training sessions short and engaging to maintain their interest.
Teaching your Goldendoodle tricks and engaging them in mental stimulation activities, such as puzzle games or trick training, can be just as tiring as physical exercise and helps prevent boredom.
It is important to provide a balanced diet that is tailored to their specific needs, considering factors such as age, size, and activity level.
High-quality dog food that meets the nutritional standards set by recognised organisations, such as AAFCO (Association of American Feed Control Officials), should be the foundation of their diet. Look for formulas that contain high levels of protein, healthy fats, and essential vitamins and minerals to support their growth and development.
In addition to commercial dog food, incorporating fresh fruits and vegetables can enhance their diet with additional nutrients. Foods like carrots, green beans, and blueberries can be excellent additions, but it’s crucial to avoid toxic foods such as grapes, chocolate, and onions.
Especially in Singapore, always provide fresh water and consult your veterinarian for personalised dietary advice and portion sizes based on your Golden Doodle’s individual health needs.

If you’re ready to welcome a Golden Doodle into your home, you’re in for an incredibly rewarding experience! Our team’s passion lies in matching customers with the right puppy and we provide ongoing lifetime support, so you feel confident every step of the way.
All our puppies receive comprehensive care and early socialisation before adoption, ensuring they are healthy and well-adjusted for their new families.
It’s important to note that ongoing expenses for owning a Goldendoodle include licensing, food, grooming, veterinary care, and training, which can total approximately SGD 1,500 to SGD 2,500 annually.
Owning a Golden Doodle in Singapore can be a fulfilling and enjoyable experience for pet lovers seeking a loyal companion. Their friendly and adaptable nature makes them an excellent fit for urban living, allowing them to thrive in various home environments.
However, you must consider the responsibilities that come with raising a Golden Doodle, including their grooming needs, regular exercise, and ongoing training to ensure they develop into well-mannered pets.
