Puppies For Sale In Singapore
Picture this: the short, sturdy legs of a Pembroke Welsh Corgi paired with the silky, snow-white coat of a Maltese. That’s the Corgi Maltese mix, a popular hybrid often called the “cortese.” But there’s more to this dog than cute social media photos.
This isn’t a random street special; it’s a “designer dog,” the result of deliberately crossing two purebreds. While the goal is often to combine the best of both worlds, genetics are usually unpredictable. You can’t cherry-pick traits.
Think of each puppy as a surprise grab bag. You might get the Corgi’s bossy bark or the Maltese’s gentle-lapdog personality—or any combination in between. But, being able to get a look at the parents will definitely help in determining the traits of your Cortese puppy. See if we have a Cortese in store here!
This guide provides a realistic look at the full range of possibilities to help you decide if this charming mix is the right fit for you.

It's been 1.5 months since we got our Japanese Spitz puppy and she has been an absolute joy. Much thanks to Yvonne for answering all our questions and being so helpful in sharing information on caring for our little pup. She had a clean bill of health and came home healthy, energetic and quite well adjusted. After purchasing this little one, we still keep in touch with Yvonne and are grateful for the after sales support indeed. :)Posted on Google![]()

Amazing experience with Pretty Pets Kennel!! Special shoutout to Branden who took the effort and patience to explain to us about the cavapoo. Really love at first sight. Initially wanted to have a second thought but with the professional explanation. It left us with only 1 choice. Guess what? We got a new family member now…☺️🎊🎉Posted on Google![]()

I got my family’s dream dog, a Papillion-Japanese spitz mix at Pretty Pet’s Kennel! I’m very grateful to Yvonne who introduced me to the designer mix dog. According to Google, it has better tolerance with Singapore’s humid heat vs Pomsky (or pure Japanese spitz). Pretty Pets Kennel designer mixes can be rare and have high visibility, so it’s important to secure them quickly if you really desire them. I’m lucky Yvonne kept me up to date on the sale this litter. ❤️ After I brought him back, Yvonne checked in daily for about 3 days to make sure the puppy was settling well and I was doing all the right things. I’m lucky that he is about 50% toilet trained from the moment I brought him in. Perhaps it’s also part of Pretty Pets structure that he is partly toilet trained. They also ethically check on some viruses before they release the pup.Posted on Google![]()

We’ve had such a lovely experience with them, from the very first time we met Yvonne to even after Pebbles came home. We actually chanced upon this place quite randomly and very much on a whim. Our boy had very recently left us, and at the time we were simply looking around — not even specifically for another puppy. Yvonne was extremely warm and took the time to get to know us. When she found out that we had previously had a Japanese Spitz, she asked if we would like to have a look at the puppies. I don’t think we need to say much more after that. ❤️ Our puppy girl came home with us the following week. What really impressed us was seeing how well the furkids/babies were cared for. We know that, unfortunately, the conditions in these situations are not always ideal, so it was reassuring to see the care and attention given to the puppies. We were even able to interact with our puppy’s birth parents, which was something really special for us. The aftercare has been just as lovely. Yvonne continues to check in with us and follows up to make sure everything is alright, and she has always been there when we have questions or concerns. We really appreciate that the care didn’t simply stop once our puppy went home. There is probably never a “right” time to welcome another furkid after losing one. We certainly weren’t looking to replace our boy, and we know our hearts weren’t really prepared for another puppy so soon. But we are incredibly grateful for that one simple question that led us to meet our little puppy girl. Thank you, Yvonne, for bringing our little puppy girl into our lives. ❤️🐾Posted on Google![]()

Jared has been extremely helpful and caring from the very beginning when we welcomed our Pomeranian, Kai, into our family. Although I have had dogs before, having a puppy is a new experience for our children, and there were many things for us to learn and adjust to together. Jared really went above and beyond. He even created a group chat to keep in touch with us, follow up on Kai’s daily progress, and make sure we were doing well and taking good care of him. Whenever we had questions or were unsure about something, he was always patient, responsive and ready to guide us. What we appreciate most is that his care didn’t stop after we brought Kai home. You can really feel that he genuinely cares about the puppies and wants them to settle happily into their new families. Thank you, Jared, for all your help, patience and care. You made welcoming Kai into our family such a smooth and reassuring experience. 🩵🐶 Highly recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Does this corgi mix breed truly fit into your world? This quick check can help you decide if your lifestyle and this dog’s needs are a perfect match.
This mix is a great fit if:
You should reconsider if:
The maltese and corgi crossbreed packs a huge personality into a small body, requiring your time and dedicated training. If you can provide that attention, you won’t just get a pet. You’ll gain a clever, deeply devoted companion who will make you the centre of their world.

Wondering if a cortese will fit into your living space? This mix stays firmly in the small-dog category, making them well-suited for apartments and houses alike. While their final size depends on which parent they favour, most are compact companions.
Quick Glance at Cortese Size:
Many prospective owners wonder if this maltese crossbreed is hypoallergenic. The honest answer is that it’s a genetic toss-up. If the pup inherits the silky, low-shedding single coat of its Maltese parent, you’ll see very little fur. If it takes after the double-coated Corgi, expect significant shedding, especially during seasonal changes.
Because there’s no guarantee, it’s recommended for you to get a viewing appointment with a breeder in order to take a look at the puppies!
Ultimately, the coat determines the grooming routine. A Maltese-like coat needs daily brushing to prevent painful mats, while a fluffy, Corgi-style double coat requires frequent brushing to control shed fur. Looking at a puppy’s parents is often the best clue you’ll get.
The cortese’s temperament is a fascinating surprise package. From their Corgi side, they can inherit a bold, clever, and sometimes bossy nature—a big-dog attitude in a small body. This is balanced by the Maltese’s classic lap-dog spirit: gentle, affectionate, and devoted to its people.
The result is often a playful and highly intelligent companion, but you won’t know which parent’s traits will shine brightest until your dog’s personality emerges. (Again, getting a look at your puppy’s parents can be a great help in determining this!)
One key trait from their Corgi heritage is a herding instinct. Don’t be alarmed if your little dog tries to “herd” family members by gently nipping at their heels. This isn’t aggression; it’s a deep-seated instinct that can be managed with positive training. Channeling this intelligence into games and puzzle toys is a great way to keep them mentally stimulated.
This blend of traits makes them excellent family pets. Corgi Maltese mixes are typically friendly with children and can get along well with other animals, especially when socialized early. Their alert Corgi side also means they’re great little watchdogs who will happily bark to announce visitors.

A cortese needs about 30-45 minutes of activity each day. In a warm climate like Singapore’s, it’s crucial to be smart about timing. Whether they have a thick Corgi-like coat or the flatter face of a Maltese, these dogs can overheat easily. Stick to cooler early morning or evening walks to keep them safe, avoiding the harsh midday sun.
Their grooming routine depends entirely on the coat they inherit. If your mix has long, flowing hair like a Maltese, plan on daily brushing to prevent painful mats. A cortese with a shorter, denser coat will be lower maintenance, requiring a good brush-down just a few times a week.
Physical activity is only half the battle. Their sharp minds need a workout, too. A bored cortese can quickly develop unwelcome habits like nuisance barking, which makes training a necessity for a happy household.
This mix’s intelligence is a double-edged sword. They learn quickly, but their Corgi heritage can also make them stubborn. The solution is positive reinforcement training—rewarding good behavior with praise or a small treat. This approach turns learning into a fun game that appeals to their smarts, making them want to cooperate.
To manage their barking tendencies, teach a “quiet” command. When they start barking, calmly say “Quiet.” The instant they pause, reward them with a treat and praise. They will quickly learn that silence gets a better reaction from you than making a racket.
Beyond specific commands, early socialisation is the most important part of training. Gently introducing your puppy to new sights, sounds, and friendly faces helps prevent common behaviour issues like shyness or suspicion, helping them grow into a confident, well-adjusted companion.
A mixed breed can unfortunately inherit health issues from either parent. A primary concern for any Corgi mix is a risk for Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), a serious back condition stemming from their long body. The best way to protect their spine is to prevent them from jumping on and off high furniture—using pet stairs or lifting them can make a huge difference.
From their Maltese heritage, these dogs are prone to Patellar Luxation, where the kneecap temporarily slips out of place, often causing a little hop or a limp. While most cases aren’t serious, severe instances may require surgery to prevent arthritis.
Finally, don’t overlook dental health. Small dogs often have crowded teeth that trap food, leading to early dental disease. For this mix, regular brushing is a crucial part of their care. Being proactive about these inherited risks is the best way to ensure a long and happy lifespan, which typically averages 12 to 15 years.
When searching for a Corgi Maltese Mix for sale in Singapore, a common question is cost. You should realistically expect to budget between S$6,000 and S$12,000. However, a high price tag doesn’t guarantee a healthy dog. The most important factor is the ethics of the breeder.
Your focus should be on finding a responsible source, as puppy mills prioritise profit over health. A good breeder will have performed health clearances on the parent dogs to screen for genetic issues. (Psst. That’s exactly what we do at Pretty Pets Kennel!)
